Counselling Conundrum: "How long should I expect to feel the chest pain from the clot in my lung given that I'm taking treatment to get rid of it?"
Concise Conclusion: Great question! Unfortunately it can take several weeks or even months before the clot goes away. If you find your symptoms worsen or don't improve after 3 months, I would speak with your doctor.
Quick Wrap-up: This can be difficult to track down, but thankfully you will see monitoring time and guidance prominently displayed on our cue cards for anticoagulants. Unfortunately, some long-term discomfort can be there to stay as well.
