1. Counselling Conundrum: a real question from a patient

2. Concise Conclusion: a straight-forward patient-friendly answer

3. Quick Wrap-up

Clearly, there are nuances that may not be captured in this format. The goal here is to provide you with helpful counselling tips which often draw from multiple sources or those which are not commonly accessed by busy healthcare providers serving the community.

Counselling Conundrum: "I used to have the normal Advair, but now it's a round disc device. Do I still use 2 puffs twice daily? It's still the 250."

Concise Conclusion: If your dose is the same, you'll be using 1 dose twice daily. Remember that you don't shake this one, you have to breathe deeply, and you won't hear a "puff" noise; it just pierces a blister with powder to be inhaled.

Quick Wrap-up: Keep in mind a diskus is always 1 dose at a time (we have not found any exceptions), even salbutamol!
